2024 – Sister Spotlight Sydney

This spring Syndey had the honor and privilege of interning under Representative Adam Anderson during the 2024 legislative session through FSU’s Legislative Internship Program. When asked about the internship, Sydney shared: “This experience has deepened my understanding and passion for law and politics, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to Rep Andersons initiative to fund pediatric rare diseases research and much more.”

Sydney also shared “I’m proud to have been a part of a team led by exceptional leaders like Lina Rojas and Clay Ingram, whose guidance and mentorship have been invaluable throughout this process. The knowledge and skills I’ve gained during this internship have been invaluable, and I’m eager to continue applying them as I progress in my career.”

Congratulations on a successful internship! We love seeing our sisters seek the heights!!

2024 – FSU Major Dinner

VP of Intellectual Development Julie, worked to host a major dinner. At our major dinner, our sisters had the chance to meet other sisters in the same major as them and chat about classes and opportunities. The labeled tables gave them a chance to walk around and see what different majors our sisters are in, and it was a great hit for new members to meet older sisters.

2024 – Hera day spent in service to others

HERA DAY–MARCH 1

In honor of our patron goddess Hera, Alpha Chi Omegas dedicate themselves on this day to aid the happiness and well-being of others. Our remembrances include volunteering and fundraising for domestic violence shelters in local communities.

2024 Hera day was no different. The chapter had just wrapped two weeks celebrating Healthy Relationships and fundraising and volunteering with the Refuge House. Hera day brought dance marathon and also a chance for women at the house to take time to write letters of support to members of the US Armed Forces.

2024 – AXΩ volunteers at Second Harvest of the Big Bend

Members of Alpha Chi Omega joined community members to volunteer at Second Harvest of the Big Bend. Second Harvest of the Big Bend is based in Tallahassee, Florida. The organization provides healthy food for neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity throughout our 16-county Big Bend service area. As the region’s primary source for charitable food, their facility acts as a storage and distribution depot for over 149 smaller frontline agency partners, including emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes, homes for the mentally disabled, and domestic violence shelters. Their mission is to advance change by feeding the hungry and educating and engaging the community in the fight to end hunger.

Our members had a blast volunteering earlier this year (read more about that here) and were excited to have the opportunity to return and make an impact. We are thankful to our Community Service Chair, Kailyn and VP Philanthropy Claire for organizing the opportunity!
