We are excited to host two local Girl Scout troops this month! It is always a blast to engage with future leaders and budding entrepreneurs!

The ladies of Alpha Chi Omega volunteered at The Tallahassee PACE Center For Girls on February 28th. The PACE Center provides girls an opportunity for a better their futures through educational opportunities, counseling, training and advocacy! The PACE Center hosted their brain bowl and talent show in honor of Black History Month. The girls from the PACE Center got into teams and answered trivia questions about Black History Month. The girls also put together a talent show where they were able to express their talents meanwhile honoring the rich history of Black History Month. AXΩ sisters helped through reading the trivia questions and answers to the participating teams, as well as greeted guests and worked the check in table for the talent show later that evening. The new relationships fostered at this event were meaningful and impactful and the sisters of Alpha Chi Omega had so much fun volunteering yesterday at The Tallahassee Pace Center for Girls!
Shout out to Star, Isabelle, Kailyn and Kendall for attending

VP Philanthropy, Claire along with her philanthropy committee worked to plan the chapters Annual Pizza Pie with Alpha Chi philanthropy event as part of Healthy Relationships Week. The committee set out to define success by increasing both number of individuals touched (raising awareness) and dollars raised (fundraising). We are happy to share that the committee not only meet but EXCEEDED BOTH GOALS!!! The entire chapter truly came together for a two weeks of events- to name a few: the chapter had guests speakers (read about them here and here), Tabled at Market Wednesday (read about here and here), hosted Best Buddies for Palentines and Galentines to celebrate healthy relationships – hosted a social media campaign and volunteered with Cupid Crew.
When Wednesday came along – the chapter had a record turnout with 700+ guests in attendance (parents, alumnae, NPHC, NPC, MGC, IFC members, fellow students, faculty and staff). On the front porch – the chapter hosted local Girl Scouts selling cookies and our beloved Celsius Rep – Caitlyn passing out samples. On the balcony we had two sisters DJ’ing, on the front lawn we hosted Champs Chance dog rescue … and inside we had music, pizza, and drinks!!!
We are excited to share we raised $18,611+ for the local Refuge House surpassing all totals Pizza Pie had historically raised!!! We couldn’t be more proud of how our chapter came together for a cause – and this is a true testament of finding success when all chapter members work together for a common goal!
And if the event, wasn’t enough they volunteered for set up, breakdown, and during the event at the local Refuge House fundraiser the following night!

Our VP Philanthropy Claire and members of the chapter worked this week to raise awareness for healthy relationships and the chapter’s upcoming Pizza Pie and Puppies! From signs on the house, a social media campaign, and tabeling at Market Wednesday the chapter was able to shed light on the important topic of Healthy Relationships while also raising money for Refuge House

In the month of February, Alpha Chi Celebrates McDowell Month. Named for the MacDowell artists’ residency program in New Hampshire (Alpha Chi Omega’s first philanthropic project), this month also honors our Founders’ heritage as musicians. During MacDowell Month, our members are encouraged to be patrons of the arts, and attend exhibitions, concerts and other events. This past weekend the Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation and Public Relations and Marketing Committee celebrated McDowell month with a visit to the art galleries in Railroad Square. Railroad Square is a WWII-era industrial warehouse park turned urban core art district, it is a 10-acre haven for the CREATIVES of Tallahassee with more than 70 shops, galleries, and small businesses….

VP of Philanthropy, Claire , collaborated with FSU Faculty Member and MSW graduate, Kotrish Wright, to invite her as a guest speaker to our chapter. Wright facilitated an enlightening session delving into the critical topics of burnout, the significance of self-care, and guided a reflective journaling session.
Wright brings a wealth of experience, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from FSU’s MSW program. Not only has she been a professor for FSU’s BSW program, but she also holds a counseling role at FSU’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center.
During the hour-long presentation, Wright addressed the prevalent issue of stress and burnout among students, particularly during midterm season. Her impactful message resonated deeply: “Don’t lose yourself trying to gain yourself.” The session revolved around fostering self-love, effective stress management, and burnout prevention, leaving our chapter members feeling inspired and rejuvenated.
Wright’s insights, stemming from years of clinical social work experience, provided invaluable guidance. The interactive Q&A session further enriched the experience, allowing members to delve deeper into self-care practices.
In Wright’s meaningful words, “Who is the world getting to know, if you don’t know what it means to love yourself first?” Her words left a lasting impression on everyone present, .
We extend our gratitude to campus partners like Wright, whose contributions amplify our collegiate journey and enrich our experiences.
