The ladies of Alpha Chi Omega hosted the Real. Strong. Women. in our lives at our home away from home this past weekend. Following Florida State University and Alpha Chi Omega COVID-19 health and safety guidelines & capacity caps – Ayva, VP Membership Programming, Piper, Family Weekend Chair & committee worked to create a weekend full of options to enjoy.
Note it was encouraged those that are at higher risk or more vulnerable to illness from COVID-19 avoid events and gatherings. The chapter also shared COVID-19 protocols and encouraged all members and guests to review ensure protocols were followed for the weekend.
Friday night the chapter encouraged members and guests to support local businesses – They suggested some favorite locations and provided the Visit Tallahassee link for all to visit.
Saturday the chapter provided various options to members and guests and provided a way for sisters to sign up for each event to ensure capacity caps were followed while also allowing members to plan to attend with others members. Events included making appointments at Royal Nails Spa to get a manicure or pedicure; Picnic at Maclay Gardens; Picnic at Wakulla Springs State Park; Pre-recorded Virtual Cooking classes; Small group In person cooking Classes with Chef Owen; and A/R Workshop events.
Sunday we partnered with local caterer Bluewater Cooking to cater a brunch. Members & guests signed up in shifts of 50 with time to sanitize in between. Sisters entered the front of the house where the signed in for their shift, and picked up any merchandise they ordered. They then flowed through dinning room where they picked up food, and were able to shop Campus Greek and Gypsy Rose boutique – from there they continued outside to eat under a tent with socially-distanced tables!
